Overview

An introduction to “Human Factors/Non-technical Skills,” includes the following topics:

  • leadership
  • team working
  • error avoidance
  • communication skills
  • time management and prioritisation
  • decision making
  • situation awareness
  • working under pressure
  • dealing with uncertainty

 

Human Factors employs highly sophisticated role-play with the use of world-class simulation techniques directly tailored to the field of surgery. Scenarios have been specifically designed to reflect situations relevant to Specialty Trainees. The course will be held at the Bristol Medical Simulation Centre, Post Graduate Education Centre, Bristol Royal Infirmary www.bmsc.co.uk

Of note: Human Factors Training will soon be part of the ISCP curriculum and is likely to become a requirement for CCT. Don’t miss out on this exciting and invaluable training opportunity.
