Overview

The Oxford and Bristol Surgical Trials Units will be holding a 3-day Surgical Research Training Event on Surgical Trials for Core and Specialist Trainees registered in the Oxford and Severn Deaneries.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Why we need randomised trials
  • Formulating the research question
  • Choosing a trial design
  • Outcome measures
  • How to set up a randomised trial
  • Basic statistics for randomised trials

The 2017 course will be held in Wolfson College, Oxford (the location alternates between Oxford and Bristol each year). Participants must be able to attend all three days.
