Of note: This course is currently only available to those registered with either the Severn or Oxford Deaneries.

 

Overview

The Oxford and Bristol Surgical Trials Units will be holding a three-day surgical research training event on Surgical Trials for Core and Specialist Trainees registered in the Oxford and Severn Deaneries.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Why we need randomised trials
  • Formulating the research question
  • Choosing a trial design
  • Outcome measures
  • How to set up a randomised trial
  • Basic statistics for randomised trials

Cost

Free! (supported by Severn and Oxford Deaneries and the RCS.) Transportation and accommodation costs for Bristol attendees will be supported. Of note: Participants must be able to attend all three days.
